Due to her love for learning and growing in September 2019, Olivia joined the BEX team to train in haircutting under the direction of Bex Cleary where she launched into one of the most sought after haircutters in our region. Michael hails from outside of Boston, MA and is a plethora of knowledge. Michael has been in the beauty industry upwards of 6 years. Prior to Michael choosing the hair business as his career path he has a background in Psychology and Business management. Michael began his professional training at PMTS Schenectady, where he learned about the facets of the industry and flourished under his like minded mentors. Michael has worked and grown his craft locally in the Capital Region, he began his career by completing an intensive color apprenticeship where he fell in love with blonding, balayage, extensions, corrective color and fashion colors. Michael is passionate about all things hair color, he believes it’s where science and art come together to create magic. Hello, I’m Candy - a highly motivated and talented stylist, eager to provide you with exceptional hair and self-care services.
I moved from South Africa to Schenectady with my husband in 2018. I worked in several different industries but settled into my true calling as a hairstylist when I graduated with Honors in Cutting from Paul Mitchell The School in September 2022, and completed an 18 month Advanced Technical Haircutting Apprenticeship through BEX Salon in 2024. I’m also a monthly guest artist at Creature of Habit Hair Studio in the Catskills. My passion lies in haircutting and I’m well on my way to specializing in all textures. I also aspire to specialize in low-maintenance, lived-in color and blonding. Continuing education is a top priority for me; we’re never too experienced to learn something new or dream new dreams!
My goal is to offer top tier luxury self-care services to my clients, and to create a safe, inclusive space for them. I value self-care as a form of mental health care and feel honored to have folks place their trust in me to curate the hair that helps them show the most authentic version of who they are to the world.
